Windows Servcer 2008 to 2016

Recommended Posts

Currently we run Service Desk version 6.5 on a Windows 2008 Server.  We know this version is old.  They want to upgrade the Windows Server to 2016 and I have been tasked with obtaining some information.

1 Will this old version run on a windows 2016 Server?

2 If not, will an updated version of Service Desk run on Windows 2016?  Which version would we need to migrate to?

3 If we updated to a new version of Service Desk, will the data from the old version transition to the new version?  We do have customized screens and tables we would need to move to the new version.

4 Would we need CA vendor support to configure the Windows 2016 Server?

Anything else we should be thinking about?

Thanks for any input or suggestions.
